Working on "thank you" cards. I really like how these came out.

Birthday cards for a niece & nephews. I like how the masculine card came out. I used inks, twine, cut strips of denim from an old pair of work jeans & used metal washers.

Mother's Day card for my MIL. I used the Cricut to cut the jar and a vellum overlay; tried using the ink on the edges of my papers again. Im so messy! I used my scraps for the inside background.
Grad card. I used a printable for my sentiment and then used my Nestabilities for the first time. I have to say they were pretty easy to run through the Big Shot.

I made a few sets of note cards today. Four to a set; used a heavy card stock on the inside. and on the inside, I put a matching piece of paper on one side and left it blank on the other for writing a message. Our church has a Ladies Crafts group & they have two craft bazaars a year. They put that money towards a children's building fund that we built. I decided to make note cards for them to sell this year. I did a variety today to take to them and see if they like the idea. Im going to do a few embellished bday, get well, and thank you cards. These I made to fit into any average size envelope. I will do the embellished cards larger and use the envelope punch board to make larger matching colored envelopes for those. I should get my pre ordered punch some time this month.

Insomnia has set in so I decided to make an attempt at a card for my brother who has a birthday later this month. I must have taken this card apart and started over at least five times! I had completely different papers, embellishments and layout each time. There isnt a thing on this card that I started with but the clip art calendar. And I wonder why it takes me so long to do one scrapping project. I used ink this time on the edges of clip art and the tag. I was so nervous using it. I colored the calendar with chalk and circled the day of his birthday. I used ribbon with a pearl snap button from an old work shirt, burlap, and brads. On the inside, I used burlap as well. I painted a heart onto the piece and I really like how the paint comes out on the burlap which is by the way, a piece of old feed sack from our dairy. My brother will be brutally honest so I hope he likes the card. Im so new at making cards and its the first one Ive ever made him one in his 38 years. Thanks for stopping by!
A card for a good friend and riding buddy. I used a clip art image for the first time. I used chalk on the image as well as on the stars and banner. I printed the banner from my PC in the Bleeding Cowboy font. On the inside, I wrote a personal message and included a black & white photo from our last ride. She really liked it and that made it worth the hours of work. I MUST learn to be a faster scrapper!!

Cards for friends as I try to work on being creative.

I got another layout done today. Yeah! But I must say, I HATED my hair cut!!!! I almost did not save these photos because of that. Just a week before, my hair was mid way down my back. I decided to get a "body wave" perm, my first and last perm! They lady burned my hair off. Yep! I was physically sick for a week. Horrible memory but it was so sweet of my son to serve me peanuts and yogurt for breakfast. bahahahaha! I decided to try folding my own flowers. I need to practice but its doable. I tried some stickles, buttons and twine with the flowers. I also tried a few different cuts/folds.
Stuck inside on a cold & rainy day today. I hope to get more layouts done while I take advantage of some down time.

My beautiful Gracie. I can not put into words what this animal bring into my life. She is full of personality, very vocal and makes me laugh every single day. Animals are amazing and pets are a gift.
Isnt he handsome! My son's Beagle, Doc. He has a freaky stare!
My first Valentine card, ever! Yes, ever. A friend brought over her Big Shot and some dies. I liked it so much that I now have a Big Shot.
A card I did for a "scene challenge" where we were not allowed to use our Cricut. I used sandpaper for the sand and chalks on the papers.
My first Get Well cards. This greeting for this first card I printed myself & was pretty happy with how the ink color came out. The band aide card did not turn out quite as I had envisioned it but it took me so long to do that I stuck with it.

This layout was done for a sketch challenge. I always have the hardest time with following a sketch. I used so much media on this one that I feel like Im a media junkie! I just love to see how I can recycle everyday things. I used a tassle (came off of an old necklace), ribbon, rickrack, brads, I stuffed scrap paper from my work into the flower, stickers, metals, leather, a clothing store tag, twine, and I embellished a sewing pin with glass beads. That was so much fun that I now need longer pins. For the sketch challenge we had to journal about whats going on in the photos & what we loved. My MIL was visiting us in WI from TX. I just love the way my husbad loves his mom; something very special.

I had to share a card I made today for my husband's upcoming 38th birthday. Its tri fold with six sides. "38 Things I Love About You". I used photos from 2000 - 2012 as well as fibers, metals, a tag from a pair of his old work jeans, a clothing store tag, button, chipboard, ink (my first time to use ink & I need to work on that), twine from the dairy, and much more. It took me at least five hours to do this one card. :/ I dont know why it takes me so long. I worked non stop. I did have to gather photos and print out a few (the thumbnails) so I guess that did take some time. Thanks for stopping by.

Working on this layout for a challenge where we had to use three patterned papers, chipbaord, something that glittered or sparkled and something cut with your Cricut. This was my first try and I just disliked it so that I ripped it all up the next day.
My second try, the next day, and I like it much better! I cut and painted my own chipboard and then layered on a sprakle gloss; journaled on my ribbon & tried layering embellishments. My goal is to layer more and more. ;)

Scrapbooking ~ Cards

After a complete year with no scarpping, I decided to give it a try. I joined a few challenges for making a couple of cards & then I made one for my MIL just because. I hope to be able to get back into my scarpbooking more and make the time for it as its hard now that I have a horse. Wish me luck. The challenge was to make a card with a tag on it. The card does not open. I used banboo yarn, safety pen, buttons, twine and a feather, and the heard is part of a torn box from the garage.
This is just a random card I made & I wanted to use part of a page kit I had received as a gift. It took me at least five HOURS to get this one done! I have never worked with Heritage papers & it turned out to be very difficult for me. I used chalk, twine, buttons, brads, fibers and I made my first flower from a ribbon. Im kind of proud of that flower and I was sad to see it go.
The challenge was to make a birthday card. I really like the papers, from The MindsEye. Im proud of my bow and the layering I did with the ribbon bow, twine bow and then button.
